TEXAS CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PROJECT
Our Mission

The Texas Civic Engagement Project exists to strengthen civic education and participation across the State of Texas by increasing awareness of elections, improving access to reliable voting information, and encouraging consistent involvement in the democratic process. Our mission is rooted in the belief that an informed, educated, and engaged electorate is essential to a healthy civic culture and responsive public institutions.
We work to ensure that Texans understand when, where, and how to participate in elections by providing clear, accurate, and timely information about voting opportunities, including registration requirements, early voting periods, and election dates. By reducing confusion and barriers to participation, we aim to make civic education and engagement more accessible for individuals and families across diverse communities.
The Project emphasizes civic responsibility as a shared public value rather than a partisan act. Voting is a foundational civic activity, and consistent participation helps ensure that public decision-making reflects the voices and experiences of the people it serves. We encourage Texans to view engagement not as a single event, but as an ongoing commitment to their communities and state.
In addition to voter education, the Texas Civic Engagement Project promotes transparency around the electoral process and helps individuals better understand how civic systems function. By increasing familiarity with election procedures and public information, we seek to build confidence, trust, and long-term participation among voters.
Our work is guided by principles of accuracy, neutrality, and respect. We do not advocate for candidates or political positions. Instead, we focus on empowering Texans with the knowledge and tools they need to participate consistently and confidently in civic life. Through education, outreach, and public information efforts, the Texas Civic Engagement Project aims to foster a more engaged, informed, and participatory Texas electorate.
